Vanessa Butler – Occupational Therapist

Vanessa gained a wealth of experience early on in her career whilst working in London. Vanessa worked for Disabled Living Foundation (DLF), a National charity providing advice, informationand training on independent living, whilst here Vanessa was published in OT News, presented at conferences across UK including Royal College of OT conference, NADIX and the OT show. Vanessa then went on to work in a leading NHS Foundation Trust in London, gaining clinical experience working across a variety of areas including, community rehab and falls, trauma orthopaedic, vascular (surgery and amputee), elderly care, accident and emergency (A&E), oncology, stroke/neuro and  most recently in a hospice setting.

Vanessas skills include:

Fatigue management, routine planning, daily living skills, community access, fine motor skills, visual perception, planning and execution, self-care, social integration, postural management, secondary school based therapy and support, anxiety management and relaxation, assessment for minor and major housing adaptations, providing equipment advice, producing moving and handling plans for clients and their carers, support with completing disabled grant application forms, financial management, functional rehabilitation, seating management, wheelchair support, falls intervention and dementia care.
